It is time to unite with my comrades
To walk arm in arm with my brothers
Through the streets of my neighborhood
Creating ripple effects
That echo throughout the world
Cry no more, Oh mother
For your sons are coming home
They have heard your cries
They have heard your prayers
They have felt your great
One Love And your hope is leading them home
I pray, Dear Lord,
That I may be able to look in the mirror
And see the reflection of your love
And be reminded that I have been created
In your perfect image
I pray, Dear Lord,
That when my brother and I
Look each other in the eye
We will see our commonality
And not our differences
I pray, Dear Lord,
That my sisters and my mothers
Don’t ever again have to experience
The pain of loss through greed, anger, and ignorance
It’s time to Love Thy Neighbor
It’s time to Love Thy Self
It’s time to love thy neighbor as thy self
It’s time
I hear the cries of my brothers
Fighting a war raging from within
The cowardice and fear that consume
Men’s hearts like a ravaging fire
War within
War without
Bleeding through
My hardened heart
I feel the calling
For revenge
And yet, deep in my soul
I know that the beast within is hurt
And in need of love
I heard your cries
Oh, mother
I heard your shouts of pain
Of seeing your children
Being taken so young
To feed the machine of anger and hatred
It is time for redemption
For healing the ancient stories
Of conflict and disunity,
That plague human history
It is time to free my soul
To give wings to peace
To love deliberately
And to awaken the God within
